1. this is the link to CNN video about a guy from India working with the homeless in his community.
Pls watch the video again, then answer this question:
What are 2 quotes that stand out to you?
Why did you pick them? (discuss what the quote means to you, or what you think it means, or why it is important idea)

2. Pls go to this link and watch this movie The Passion Project.
https://vimeo.com/64410009
here also is a link to the full transcript of the movie...
http://seanchabot.blogspot.com/2014/02/the-passion-project-full-transcript.html
once you have watched the movie, here is the writing:
What are 2-3 quotes that speak to you.... what do you like about them? why did you pick them? how can you use them in your paper?
3. You are asked to meet up with 4 to 5 people who know you. (You don't need to meet them all at once, lol, but pairs might work...)
You will be asking these people to talk about YOU. (yes, it might feel weird at first!)
See if you can create a discussion that explores
what strengths they see in you...
what passions they see you having...
what future they envision for you...
what role they can imagine you playing in groups or in doing projects....
(these can be turned into questions that you ask...)
TAKE NOTES about what they say, maybe even record them... their words will end up being QUOTES that you may be using in paper #1..
After you do the interviews... write up 3-4 paragraphs that pull together the ideas and especially the trends that you notice...(it probably means something if every person you interview thinks you should be an astronaut...lol)
4. Why do you think people don't get more involved in the issues that are around them, esp. issues that are related to cities.
Pick the best 3 reasons that you came up with that you think you want to write about...
Pick the best 3 reasons that you came up with that you think you want to write about...
Keep in mind that you should try to avoid picking reasons that are similar to each other. Once you pick the 3 best that you like, write up 3-4-5 sentences for each one, expanding the discussion of each. (You are essentially creating the topics sentences for each reason.)
5. Pls watch this cool video about this concept called "Participatory Budgeting."
Once you watch it, go back to the reasons you came up with for why people don't get more involved
For each of the reasons you came up with, ask yourself "Does this movie address (and maybe even solve) the reason?" I think you will find that a LOT of the issues you came up with for why people don't get involved are addressed by this movie....
6. Next, spend time on the website, and learn what you can about this concept of PB...THEN, write up a 1-2 para summary about what PB is...
