    1. CNN Video Quote #1: “What is the ultimate purpose of life?”

I chose this quote because this is a question that I have pondered about a lot. The answers to this question can change throughout my life, but this question helps guide me through my decisions. I may not have a definite answer to what the ultimate purpose in life may be, but with me personally, I think striving to be the best version of myself is my purpose. This includes being intentional with my time, being conscious of what I say and do, and acknowledging the support I am given from my ancestors and community.

    2. CNN Video Quote #2: “Start giving. See the joy in giving.”

I chose this as my second quote because the man answers his first question of “What is the ultimate purpose of life,” with simply stating this quote. He commands us to give, which may seem like a big task. “See the joy in giving,” he continues on to say in a reassuring tone. I like this quote because the man leads by example and he genuinely enjoys what he does and wants everyone to experience that level of joy. This made me think about different ways we can give, which can be giving our time, energy, love, and support.

    3. Passion Project Quote #1: “Samira: But the best advice I felt like I could have been given is to know that my mind is is undecided. To know that just knowing that I’m so undecided that um I’m gonna change every single day. I can change what I believe from moment to moment from day to day from year to year, and you’re gonna continue changing especially that 20 to 30 phase. Like you’re just rapidly changing and you’re so confused and you’re so lost and if someone had just stopped me and told me it’s okay--like explore it, go with it.”

I appreciated Samira’s advice, because I agree that it is important to advise the younger generation to explore and be okay with not knowing what to do yet. I will try to remind people that it is okay to explore, because your life is up for you to deserve and if you need more time to decide then you should allow yourself that time. I appreciated this quote because as we grow older, we are constantly told to decide now and are often shamed for taking too long, but I constantly have to remind myself that I think I am taking longer only when compared to someone else’s timeline.

    4. Passion Project Quote #2: “Narration: The classroom: Imagine it as a temple removed from society’s influences harboring a vault where time ceases to exist and where wisdom is practiced. Imagine a thousand possibilities between teacher and student waiting to unfold. Imagine passion burning away the black armor.”

I appreciated this quote because this would be my idea of a classroom. A place that I attend daily to grow as a student and person in general. Values practiced include wisdom, passion, purpose, and kindness. This classroom allows me to explore my artistic pursuits and enables me to express creativity through music, art, and writing. Proactive conversations are presented and debates are invited because it is understood that not everyone thinks the same. I imagine the black armor to be what society expects and what the ego feeds on. The classroom rids of these entities because it is false and detracts progressive measures in becoming a better person. Time and money is what ties us into a forced, rushed, and greedy society disabling students of the classroom to explore and genuinely learn.

I would use these quotes in my paper by sharing my experience at Chabot college before and after I started trusting my creativity. I appreciated both videos because they both fed me spiritually and have influenced me to continue striving towards being a better person. Thank you.
