You have 5 different things to do for HW ...some of the work is practical (like planning for the Culture Fest) and some of the work is theoretical, to give you some background about why we are doing this work in Hayward.
1. We are starting to plan what we would like to do for the Longwood Culture Fest.
Here are possible categories of activities/events that could take place:
- Fun activities/ events for Kids
- Holiday Related activities/ events
- Food (this can have a cultural feel, or a holiday feel, or a "make it at the Fest" feel)
- Your Community Garden projects
- Community Projects (these can be projects that previous students have done, or they could be new project that you come up with)
- Plastic Pollution (deWit class)
- Longwood Parents projects (we dont know yet what these will be)
The rest of this HW below is due on Dec 4th when we come back to class.

5. Please read this short article about social capital (which simply means assets or strengths that a society has...) ... there are 6 types of capitals discussed. Once you read this, rank the 6 types in order of importance. There is no right answer, but you should write up your reasons for why you rank them in the order that you do.
