Essay #2: Project Proposal for Knowledge Garden----all English classes are doing this...

Essay #2: Project Proposal for Knowledge Garden
For this essay assignment, you have a Design and Research Challenge. The broad challenge is that you are being asked to design and create something that will displayed in the Chabot Knowledge Garden. It will stay in the garden and visitors will be able to learn and benefit from it. You can plant something, or a create a structure, or explore a concept--or something else that we can discuss together.
You should write this essay as if it is a proposal. You may be working together as a team to do the project but you will each be writing your own proposal. Your audience for the proposal and project is Chabot College, City of Hayward government, and City of Hayward residents.
Each proposal question below should be answered in detail. Do not just give a one sentence answer. You should include pictures and design layouts. You will be expected to do a good deal of research around your topic, and to pull quotes from this research to use in your body paragraphs. You can pull quotes from essays we have read, from interviews that you do,  as well as from outside sources, and from the Hayward City materials.)

You will also be expected to interview at least one community member who has knowledge or expertise about your project. You will integrate quotes from their interview into your proposal.

For all the questions below, you really want to write lots of paras (3-4).

  1. Please describe in detail, what exactly is your project?
  2. How does your project relate to or respond to Climate Change and/or the natural environment?
  3. What existing assets in the community can you use to complete your project? Describe in great detail how you will use the assets to execute your project. This can be people, resources, knowledge, etc.
