1st Formal Essay: "City and Community Working Together"--SPRING 2019

For this essay assignment, you are being asked to do research about a city and community working together to improve the community. You should pick a city in the USA. If you want to pick a city outside the USA, you and I need to agree on this. You should pick a project that helps community members who are sometimes ignored or forgotten.

The following questions will guide you as you build your paper. You should answer all the questions. If you have other questions that you want to explore, that is fine too.

1. Please describe in detail, what exactly is the project?
2. What need is being filled, or what problem is being addressed by this project?
3. What steps did it take to complete the project?
4. What hurdles or difficulties did the project face?
5. What was the budget for the project? Please be specific about what the funds were spent on?
6. What has been the impact of the project on the community?

You should consider bring in comparisons from other cities doing similar projects in order to make your paper more complete.

You must contact and interview people from the city who know about the project. You will be asking them questions about the project to learn more about it.

Whenever possible, you should do Rule of 3 in the paper when answering each question.

In order to support your points, you need to use ideas found in essays and other materials I provide you, your own research, interviews you do, and in any other handouts, books, etc. that you have access to.

You should  average a minimum of 1-2 short quotes per paragraph. Quote length in a paper of this length should be no more than 1-2 lines.
