Inequality is transforming the Bay Area. Low-income communities and communities of color are increasingly living at the expanding edges of our region. There they often struggle to find quality jobs and schools, affordable housing, accessible public transportation, adequate social services, and environmentally safe and healthy neighborhoods.

In our 2016 report, Race, Inequality, and the Resegregation of the Bay Area, we provided an eleven county overview of these trends between 2000-2014. In our new discussion paper, Regional Resegregation: Reflections on Race, Class, and Power in Bay Area Suburbs, we take a closer look at how these changes are impacting three Bay Area sub-regions: southern Santa Clara County, eastern Contra Costa County, and south central Solano County.
