For this assignment, you are being asked to write a 90 second to 2 minute "rant" about education. We have seen Jeff Bliss go off in his high school class, and although he was clearly upset, he also made a great number of really excellent points. What you will be doing for this assignment is to write up YOUR feelings/opinion about what needs to change about education today. Your rant may not have anger in it, but it should for sure have your strong opinions about the state of education today. You can offer your ideas about what should be done differently. You can integrate in your philosophy of education. You can offer your thoughts about what students might need to do differently. You can even write the rant in a creative way--you could do it as a Rap, for example. You make it rhyme. You could make it funny.
Once you write it up, you should post the rant to your blog site. You should be prepared to share your rant at your next class, so that means you should also bring a hard copy of your rant to next class.
We will also talk next week about having you memorize and perform your rant so that it can be filmed.
